Our Collection

The whole collection can be searched through the central catalogue of the UvA (University of Amsterdam). The CEDLA Library is arranged according to land/region, and within that the books are categorized according to theme. The theme codes also function as location numbers, but in order to simplify finding the books, we have begun assigning keywords and subjects to the Catalogue.

Since 1991, most of the libraries of the University of Amsterdam have developed their acquisitions according to the Dutch Basic Classification (NBC) system. Beginning in 2009, all Spanish acquisitions have thematic location numbers, subjects and keywords. Acquisitions in English and Portuguese will be soon catalogued accordingly.
